MFDS is honored to be the first drumming school in Guyana and the first to take Guyana to an international level. We take pride in what we do, stand for, and what we support, which is inspiring and educating the world about the art of Afro-Caribbean style drumming. We were the first drumming school in Guyana to be featured on billboards, cards, and in magazines. We were also the first to take part in the Muhtadi International Drumming Festival in Toronto, Canada.
The international program allows MFDS to promote the art of drumming worldwide. In addition the program exposes other cultures around the world to our drumming school and our teachings. Our goals are to provide our students with a chance to experience various cultures and to encourage students to teach others what they have learned. Our international program builds the MFDS brand throughout the world and in the various places we visit and perform.
Most importantly, we are going to harness our efforts going forward to meet new master drummers and percussionists in every place we visit, share our knowledge of Afro-Caribbean drumming, and learn the art and culture of drumming from an international prospective. At Majekfingers Drumming School we are always open to learning and doing new things, so on this amazing journey we will definitely try to inspire and educate the world about our country’s culture and the art or Afro-Caribbean style. I invite you all to explore these goals with us. Join us on this journey that is sure to be filled with majek and wonder.
